JoseiJosei manga (Japanese language|Japanese: 女性, lit. "woman", International Phonetic Alphabet|IPA ; also known as redīsu (レディース) or redikomi (レディコミ), lit. "ladies' comics"), is a genre of manga or anime created mostly by women, for late teenage and adult female audiences. The male equivalent to josei is seinen. In Japanese, the word ''josei'' means only "female" and is not directly indicative of sexual matter.The stories tend to be about everyday experiences of women living in Japan. Though there are some that cover high school, most cover the lives of adult women. The style also tends to be a more restrained, realistic version of shojo|shōjo, keeping some of the wispy features and getting rid of the very large sparkly eyes. There are exceptions in the style described above, but what defines josei is some degree of stylistic continuity of comics within this particular demographic (the! same is true with different demographics that have different stylistic tendencies).In addition, unlike shojo|shōjo, josei comics can portray realistic romance (as opposed to mostly idealized romance). A subset of josei comics are comics that are aimed at women about homosexual male relationships, called yaoi. Josei is also known for a very sexual edge; many of the magazines have some of the raunchiest porn produced in Japan.''Josei'' is sometimes used within anime or manga, mostly by male characters, to refer to a fetish|sexual preference for age disparity in sexual relationships|older women, as contrasted with lolicon. |

Transport_financeTransport finance is the subject that explores how transport networks are paid for. There are a number of issues. The timing of the money required to finance transport is a principal issue. Many projects are "pay-as-you-go", that is infrastructure, which lasts many years, is expected to be paid out of ongoing cash flow. Other projects are financed with bonds raised in capital markets. Bonds must be secured with an expected future cash flow. The cash flow, required for either pay-as-you-go or for bonds, must be raised. Common sources are user fees, such as gas taxes, and tolls. Other sources are general revenue. This issue is related to who bears the burden: users or the general public. Even if users bear the burden, that class must be subdivided, e.g. users during peak times or off-peak, freight or passenger traffic, urban or rural users, residents or non-residents (many toll plazas are located on the state line to maximize revenue from non-residents).A third issue ! concerns the full costs of transportation. There are monetary costs, which are financed with money, as considered above, but there are also non-monetary costs (sometimes called hidden costs), which are paid for by people's time, by clean air, by peace and quiet, etc. See the discussion of externalities for a fuller explication of non-monetary costs. |

Aseptic_bone_necrosisAseptic bone necrosis (ABN), also called avascular necrosis or osteonecrosis, is where bone and bone marrow|marrow die in the absence of an infection|infective agent. It can affect any bone, and half of cases show multiple sites of damage, but primarily affects the joints at the shoulder, knee, and hip.The condition shows necrosis anywhere in the bone. Damage within the length of the bone is usually asymptomatic. Necrosis in the epiphysis or in the bone joints, which extends into adjacent cartilage is more serious. All dead bone cells are, eventually, reabsorbed and replaced. But new bone is soft, may misshape or fracture under pressure producing malformed joint surfaces and hence pain and mobility problems, afflictions such as arthritis. These joints must be treated surgically, by replacement.It can be caused by a number of conditions that damage bone cells, including fractures, vascular compression, hypertension, vasculitis, thrombosis, the use of corticosteroids, and dama! ge from radiation.It can also be found in Scuba diving|divers, around 5% of professional divers develop ABN, as a consequence of inadequate decompression. Insufficient to produce decompression sickness but producing nitrogen bubbles which block blood circulation in some bone areas.Avascular necrosis is especially common in the hip joint. A variety of methods are now used to treat avascular necrosis, the most common being the total hip replacement, or THR. However, THRs have a number of downsides including long recovery times and short life spans. THRs are an effective means of treatment in the geriatric population, however doctors shy away from using them in younger patients due to the reasons above. A new, more promising treatment is metal on metal resurfacing. It is a form of a THR, however in this procedure, only the head of the femur is removed as opposed to a THR in which the entire neck is removed. Metal on metal resurfacing is still experimental in America but ! has been endorsed in Great Britain as an excellent alternative! to a TH R. Some doctors also prescribe medicines such as phosomax which are believed to increase the rate at which new bone replaces the dead bone, thus preventing collapse (speciffically of the hip) due to AVN. |

DumperIn United Kingdom|British usage, a dumper is a small one-man diesel-powered vehicle often used to carry loads and material around, often on building sites. It has a towing eye on its back end, to tow such things as a air compressor to run pneumatic drills. Its skip can tip to dump its load out: this is where the name "dumper" came from.The older Lister (disambiguation)|Lister-type dumpers steer by turning its back wheels. Its motor is started by hand cranking. It has no electric or hydraulic parts and thus has not much that can easily go wrong. Its skip is secured by a catch underneath and raised and lowered by a man pulling at its front upper edge.Modern dumpers often steer by articulating at the middle of the chassis. They have electric parts and hydraulics and are more expensive to make and operate. Some of them have an A-frame over the seat, known as a ROPS (Roll-Over Protection) frame, to protect the driver if the dumper rolls over. Some dumpers have FOPS (Falling Objec! t Protection) as well. The skip has power tipping and often lifts as it tips. Contango:''Contango is also the name of a small oil and gas company listed on American Stock Exchange|AMEX [http://www.contango.com/].'' Contango is a futures market term. It is the situation where, and the amount by which, the price of a commodity for future delivery is higher than the spot price. Or a far future delivery price higher than a nearer future delivery.A contango is normal for a non-perishable commodity which has a cost of carry. (Such costs will be warehousing fees and interest foregone on money tied up, less income from leasing out the commodity if possible (eg. gold)).The contango should equal the cost of carry, because producers and consumers can compare the futures contract price against the spot price plus storage, and choose the better one. Arbitrage|arbitrageurs can sell one and buy the other for a risk-free profit too (see Rational pricing#Futures|rational pricing – futures).But if there is a near-term shortage, the price comparison breaks down and the contango may be reduced or dissappear. Near prices become higher than far prices because for consumers future delivery does not suffice, and because there are few holders who can make an arbitrage profit by selling the spot and buying back the future. This is called backwardation.For perishable commodities, price differences between near and far delivery are not a contango. Different delivery dates are like different commodities in this case, since fresh eggs today are not fresh in 6 months time, or 90-day treasury bills will expire, etc. |
